Navy releases advancement results for E4, E5 and E6

22 May 2013 Petty officer advancement results were released today giving 22,000 Sailors the good news that they have been advanced.

"Advancements are critical to our overall strategy for managing enlisted communities and delivering readiness to the Fleet," said Fleet Master Chief April Beldo, Manpower, Personnel Education and Training. "Current advancement opportunity is beginning to stabilize closer to historic norms as we see the number of vacancies return to historic levels."

The cycle saw a small decline for all paygrades after four consecutive increases in active duty E4 and E5 opportunity and three consecutive increases for E6 opportunity. However, opportunity for all paygrades is above the 10-year average.

Nearly 10,000 eligible Sailors advanced to E4 - 43.77 percent. E5 advancement decreased from 32.42 percent to 26.51 percent and opportunity for E6 advancement decreased from 19.59 percent to 17.46 percent.
