A T-45C Goshawk training aircraft assigned to Training Squadron (VT) 9 launches from the flight deck aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). Dwight D. Eisenhower is underway in the Atlantic Ocean conducting training carrier qualifications for the Chief of Naval Air Training. This is the first opportunity for student naval aviators from Training Air Wings (TW) 1 and 2 to launch and recover on an underway aircraft carrier.
