CAMP HANSEN, Okinawa (May 24, 2024) Sailors from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4 motivate Construction Mechanic Julian Quintana and Equipment Operator 3rd Class Spencer Richter in a water hose race against other units in Engineer Field Meet 2024 on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, on May 24, 2024. The Engineer Field Meet is an annual event during which engineering and construction units from any branch and host nation forces in the local area are invited to compete to build interunit camaraderie and esprit de corps. NMCB-4 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region to support and maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific. As the stand-in, crisis response, naval engineering force, NMCB-4 maintains a ready posture to deliver in-theater expeditionary logistics via expeditionary shore infrastructure, forward damage repair, and mobile construction.
