GULF OF GUINEA (May 16, 2024) Three Ghana navy small boats approach the stern of the Comandanti-class patrol ship ITS Comandante Bettica (P 492) for the small boat boarding section of a joint Obangame Express 2024 and Flintlock 2024 maritime boarding and interdiction training demonstration. During Exercise Obangame Express 2024, the 13th rendition of the exercise, partner and allied forces collaborate to enhance collective maritime law enforcement capabilities, bolster national and regional security in West Africa, and foster greater interoperability among U.S., African, and multinational partners. Exercise Flintlock helps to strengthen the defense readiness of African partners and regional organizations in addressing security threats.
