NORFOLK, Va. (May 10, 2024) – Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti welcomes the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) to Norfolk, Virginia, May 10. Throughout the ship’s seven month deployment to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operation, Carney successfully destroyed 45 Houthi-launched weapons, including land attack cruise missiles, anti-ship ballistic missiles, and unmanned systems.
