The Sailor was injured during the May 1 collision between two landing craft, air cushions (LCAC) from amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) and San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS New York (LPD 21) off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida.
