HILO, Hawaii (April 6, 2024) The U.S. Pacific Fleet parade band marches in the 2024 Merrie Monarch Festival parade in Hilo, Hawaii. The Merrie Monarch festival honors King David Kalākaua, who was known as the “Merrie Monarch.” King Kalākaua was a patron of the arts and played a significant role in preserving Hawaiian cultural traditions during his reign.
