ATLANTIC OCEAN (April 20, 2024) Chief Machinery Repairman Nicholas Barkdull, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), provides pipe patching training during a flooding drill in the ship’s hangar, April 20, 2024. Wasp is underway in the Atlantic Ocean and is the flagship of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group (WSP ARG)-24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) completing Composite Training Unit Exercise under the evaluation of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 4 and Expeditionary Operations Training Group (EOTG). CSG 4 and EOTG work together with Joint and Allied teammates to mentor, train, and assess ARG and MEU in support of U.S. and Allied economic, security, and defense interests.
