Depicted is the U.S. Navy Southern Seas 2024 deployment logo. The logo represents the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington's (CVN 73), Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS Porter (DDG 78) and USS Sampson (DDG 102), Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS John Lenthalls (T-AO 189), and CDS 40 Staffs (Supports Embarked International Staff) deployment around the horn of South America. The ship's are deployed as part of Southern Seas 2024 which seeks to enhance capability, improve interoperability, and strengthen maritime partnerships with countries throughout the region through joint, multinational and interagency exchanges and cooperation."
