NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (March 6, 2023) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Monika Young operates as a phone talker during a damage control drill aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), March 6, 2024. The drill, required by the Industrial Ship Safety Manual for Fire Prevention (8010), was created to train integrated teams of Sailors and balefire fighters to combat casualties in industrial environments.
