FRCE celebrates Black History Month
Retired Marine Corps Col. Gilda Jackson serves as a keynote speaker during the 2024 Naval Air Systems Command National Black History Month Observance, held at Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) Feb. 15. Jackson made history in 1997 when she became the first Black woman in the Marine Corps to be promoted to the rank of colonel, and was subsequently tapped as FRCE’s first, and only to this date, female commanding officer.
