SOUTH CHINA SEA (Dec. 14, 2023) Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class Rei Roa, from Las Vegas, Nevada, assigned to the "Black Knights" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 4, conducts maintenance on the rotor blade of an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter in the hangar bay of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). Carl Vinson, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 1, is deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
