MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Oct. 29, 2023) A boat team from the expeditionary sea base USS Hershel "Woody" Williams (ESB 4) provided aid mariners in a distressed vessel in the western Mediterranean Sea, Oct. 29, 2023. Sailors supplied blankets, food, water, and engineering assistance. Sailors stood by until the Spanish Coast Guard arrived on the scene. Hershel "Woody" Williams is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend U.S., Allied and Partner interests.
