SUEZ CANAL (Nov. 4, 2023) The Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) transits the Suez Canal, Nov. 4. IKE is the flagship of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group an integrated combat weapons system ready to respond to a range of contingencies in support of national security priorities. The strike group is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations to help ensure maritime security and stability In the Middle East region.
