GULF OF ADEN (Oct. 18, 2023) Marine Corps crew chiefs assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), launch an Autonomous Lagrangian Thermometric Observer (ALTO) from a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter in the Gulf of Aden, Oct. 18, 2023. Components of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations to help ensure maritime security and stability in the Middle East region.
