BEAUFORT SEA (Aug. 6, 2023) The U.S. Coast Guard cutter USCGC Healy (WAGB 20) lowers a brow onto the Arctic ice during a scientific mission involving U.S. Coast Guard divers of Regional Dive Locker West and the Navy divers of Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) One during Healy Summer Cruise '23. The joint USCG/Navy conducted 42 military dives, totaling 656 minutes of bottom time and reaching depths of 40 feet of seawater in the Arctic Ocean. MDSU One is a component of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One. EOD Group One, a component of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, mans, trains, and equips west-coast based EOD and mobile dive and salvage forces in support of the fleet, special operations, and joint, combined and contingency operations.
