Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro presents the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal posthumously to Petty Officer Peter L. Smith, a native of Troy, New York. His son, James, received the awards, which were for meritorious service involving aerial flight from July 8, 1943 to Nov. 13, 1944.
