GREAT LAKES, Ill. (Aug. 1, 2023) Capt. Craig Mattingly, commander of Naval Service Training Command (NSTC), speaks to officer candidates during Naval ROTC New Student Indoctrination (NSI) Cycle 3 on the USS Marlinspike, Aug. 1, 2023. NSTC supports naval accessions training for 98 percent of the Navy's new officers and enlisted Sailors. This training includes the Naval ROTC at more than 160 colleges and universities across the country; Officer Training Command in Newport, Rhode Island; Recruit Training Command, the Navy's only boot camp; as well as the Navy Junior ROTC and Navy National Defense Cadet Corps citizenship development program at more than 600 high schools worldwide.
