CORAL SEA (July 30, 2023) U.S. Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and U.S. Navy Sailors with the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) participate in a rowing competition in the Coral Sea, July 30, 2023. The competition was hosted by the morale, welfare, and recreation program, where Marines and Sailors competed in groups of five to reach five kilometers on the rowing machine with the fastest time. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit is operating aboard ships of the America Expeditionary Strike Group in the U.S. 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
