SAN DIEGO (June 28, 2023) Sailors aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Decatur (DDG 73) look to family and friends as the ship arrives pierside at Naval Base San Diego, June 28, 2023. Decatur, a part of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group, returned following a seven-month deployment to U.S. 3rd and 7th Fleet areas of operations. While on deployment, Nimitz Strike Group conducted operations in U.S. 7th Fleet including: deterrence and presence operations; multinational exercises; integrated multi-domain training; long-range maritime strike exercises; anti-submarine warfare; information warfare operations; air defense operations; multiple ship navigation; and formation maneuvering and refueling-at-sea operations.
