PACIFIC OCEAN (June 13, 2023) U.S. Marines with Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, rappel from a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter during fast-rope training aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in the Pacific Ocean, June 13, 2023. MRF Marines conducted fast rope training to rehearse insertion methods and close quarters tactics for boarding and securing maritime vessels. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit is operating aboard ships of USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
