EAST CHINA SEA (June 5, 2023) The Royal Canadian Navy naval replenishment unit MV Asterix, the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93), the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Asahi-class destroyer JS Shiranui (DD 120) and the Royal Australian Navy Anzac-class frigate HMAS Anzac (FFH 150) transit the East China Sea in formation during Surface Action Group operations as a part of exercise "Noble Wolf." Chung-Hoon is participating in multi-lateral exercises in the East China Sea with the Royal Australian Navy, Royal Canadian Navy and the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force. Multi-later exercises like this reassure our allies and partners of the U.S. commitment to maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific.
