The 2009 U.S. Pacific Fleet Sea Sailor of the Year Petty Officer 1st Class Samira McBride, operations specialist, is meritoriously promoted to chief petty officer at an advancement ceremony at the Navy Memorial. McBride is one of four sailors selected for Sailor of the Year and this marks the first time in history all Sailors of the Year are women.
