MERSIN, Turkiye (Feb. 28, 2023) U.S. Navy Sailors from USS Hershel "Woody" Williams (ESB 4) unload humanitarian supplies for the Turkish Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) in Mersin, Turkiye, Feb. 28, 2023. Hershel "Woody" Williams delivered 113 pallets of humanitarian aid, totaling nearly 40,000 pounds to Turkiye as part of Task Force 61/2's continued humanitarian support to the people of Turkiye. Task Force 61/2 (TF 61/2) is operating under U.S. 6th Fleet, U.S. Naval Forces Europe (NAVEUR), and U.S. European Command as part of the international Turkish disaster relief efforts.
