PHILIPPINE SEA (March 5, 2023) U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit attach a water bull to a CH-53E Super Stallion during helicopter support team training as part of Iron Fist 23 aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD-20) in the Philippine Sea, March 5, 2023. The training was held to familiarize Marines and Sailors with how to perform aerial lifts of equipment from ships. Iron Fist is an annual bi-lateral exercise designed to increase interoperability and strengthen the relationships between the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
