PACIFIC OCEAN (Dec. 4, 2022) Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class Shawn Luna, assigned to the submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39), fires a .50-caliber machine gun during a crew-served weapons qualification aboard the ship. Emory S. Land is tasked to provide expeditionary, intermediate-level maintenance and repairs, as well as provide hotel services and logistics support to deployed guided-missile and fast-attack submarines deployed to U.S. 5th and U.S. 7th Fleet areas of responsibility.
