Jeff Jablon, Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, center, receives a tour showcasing the capabilities of the U.S. Navy Marine Mammal Program, Nov. 4, 2022. The Reconnaissance and Interdiction Division at Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific manages the Navy’s Marine Mammal Program which trains bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions to detect, locate, mark and recover objects in harbors, coastal areas, and at depth in the open sea. NIWC Pacific provides technological and engineering support critical to information warfare for the U.S. Navy, as well as for Marine Corps, Air Force, Army and Coast Guard programs.
