PORTSMOUTH, England (Nov. 18, 2022) Capt. Paul Lanzilotta, commanding officer of the first-in-class aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), provides a tour of the ship to Commodore John Voyce, commanding officer of His Majesty’s Naval Base, Portsmouth, and guests, Nov. 18, 2022. During his visit, Voyce met with Gerald R. Ford leadership and toured several spaces to gain a better understanding of the ship's capabilities. Gerald R. Ford is anchored off the coast of Portsmouth, England, marking the second foreign port call for the nation’s newest aircraft carrier. The Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group is deployed in the Atlantic Ocean, conducting training and operations alongside NATO allies and partners to enhance integration for future operations and demonstrate the U.S. Navy’s commitment to a peaceful, stable and conflict-free Atlantic region.
