U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to II Marine Expeditionary Force are briefed on the Autonomous Casualty Evacuation System during Technology Operational Experimental Exercise (TOEE) 22 on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, August 4, 2022. The ACE System is an experimental technology that enables Marines and Sailors to autonomously transport a casualty to a higher echelon of care. TOEE 22 is an exercise, in partnership with the Office of Naval Research, where Marines and Sailors leverage key technologies in realistic, operational conditions to enhance warfighting, Force Design 2030 initiatives and emerging naval concepts, such as Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations.
