PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 2, 2022) The fleet replenishment oiler USNS Henry J. Kaiser (T-AKE 187) prepares to break away from the amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23) after a replenishment-at-sea, Sept. 2, 2022. Replenishments-at-sea efficiently provide Navy ships with fuel and supplies without having to pull into a port. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), is underway conducting integrated training operations with the 13th MEU in the U.S. 3rd Fleet to prepare for an upcoming deployment.
