(Aug. 30, 2022) From left: The Penn State Applied Research Lab (ARL) Assistant Research Professor Simon Miller; Surge Maintenance Electrician's Mate 2nd Class Samano Sliwo; Penn State Software Engineer Joe Melchiorre and VRC Metal Systems Cold Spray Technician Ben Richard work together on a demonstration as part of the Repair Technology Exercise, or REPTX, while underway aboard the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) off the coast of Port Hueneme, California. The demonstration combined Penn State's AUBO i5 robot arm with VRC's Dragonfly cold spray system to repair a damaged section of steel plating on the SDTS fan tail.
