PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug 5, 2022) A CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 465, prepares to land on the flight deck aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), August 5. Marine aviation assets including the MV-22 Osprey and the Super Stallion, support the transportation of Marine land vehicles and troops from ship to shore creating a more lethal force. John P. Murtha, part of amphibious squadron (CPR) SEVEN, along with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is currently underway conducting integrated training in U.S. 3rd Fleet to prepare for an upcoming deployment.
