SAN DIEGO (Aug. 23, 2022) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) returns to homeport Naval Base San Diego. The Fitzgerald, a part of Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group (ABECSG), returned home from a deployment to U.S. 3rd, 5th and 7th Fleets after serving as the ballistic missile defense commander for ABECSG before detaching to conduct independent operations.
