PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 6, 2022) Seaman Treasure Johnson relays a message to the bridge during a replenishment-at-sea from the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). Phone talkers are responsible for relaying all pertinent information from the line handlers to the bridge and all orders from the bridge to the line handlers. Makin Island, flagship of Amphibious Squadron (CPR) SEVEN, along with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is currently underway conducting integrated training in the U.S. 3rd fleet to prepare for an upcoming deployment.
