PHILIPPINE SEA (Aug. 6, 2022) Marines assigned to Battalion Landing Team 2/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), tow a combat rubber raiding craft during a company formation exercise from the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18). Blackhearts practiced formations on the water to refine infantry tactics. The 31st MEU is operating aboard the ships of the Tripoli Expeditionary Strike Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific Region.
