PHILIPPINE SEA (Aug. 1, 2022) Cmdr. Nick Cunningham, commanding officer of the "Saberhawks" of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 77 flies over the flight deck of the U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) in an MH-60R Sea Hawk during a change of command ceremony in the Philippine Sea. During the ceremony, Cunningham transferred command of HSM 77 to Cmdr. Blade Schallenberger. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
