FRCE materials engineers assist Coast Guard with parts backlog

Chemical stripping agents remove hard organic coatings from aircraft parts so that they can nondestructively inspected and repaired. FRCE materials engineers recently assisted engineering personnel from the U.S. Coast Guard’s Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, in processing a backlog of aircraft parts that required chemical stripping.
