SOUTH CHINA SEA (July 19, 2022) Machinist Mate 2nd Class El Jean Root, from San Diego, places a fuel sample in a centrifuge in the oil lab aboard the Arleigh Bruke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Higgins (DDG 76). Higgins is assigned to Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy's largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet's principal surface force.
