WHITE BEACH, Japan (July 26, 2022) - The amphibious assault carrier USS Tripoli (LHA 7) sits pier side at Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa White Beach Naval Facility, July 26, 2022. Tripoli shares the pier with Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) destroyer JS Sawagiri (DD 157) and a JMSDF diving support vessel. Tripoli is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and maintain stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
