SAN DIEGO (July 6, 2022) Sailors heave line on the fantail of the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). Sailors are required to relocate and assemble mooring lines to prevent safety hazards after each evolution. Makin Island is underway conducting routine operations in U.S. 3rd Fleet.
