PACIFIC OCEAN (June 23, 2022) Lt. j.g. Derrick Snell, left, from Atlanta, and Seaman Zachary Ellison, from Jemison, Ala., measure the distance between ships of Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group (ABECSG), Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and Royal Australian Navy ships aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Mobile Bay (CG 53). ABECSG is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet. An integral part of U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. 3rd Fleet leads naval forces in the Indo-Pacific and provides the realistic, relevant training necessary to flawlessly execute our Navy's role across the full spectrum of military operations from combat operations to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
