PACIFIC OCEAN (June 24, 2022) A Sailor assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 3 fast-ropes from the cabin of an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the "Chargers" of Helicopter Sea Combat squadron (HSC) 14 during a helicopter visit, board, search and seizure (HVBSS) drill in conjunction with the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group (ABECSG) and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force helicopter destroyer JS Izumo (DDH-184). The ABECSG is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet. An integral part of U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. 3rd Fleet leads naval forces in the Indo-Pacific and provides the realistic, relevant training necessary to flawlessly execute our Navy's role across the full spectrum of military operations - from combat operations to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. U.S. 3rd Fleet works together with our allies and partners to advance freedom of navigation, the rule of law, and other principles that underpin security for the Indo-Pacific region.
