IZMIR, Turkey (June 11, 2022) U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Dillon Perera, left center, attached to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), presents the V-Bat unmanned aerial system to distinguished visitors during a reception aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Arlington (LPD 24) to conclude exercise EFES 2022, June 11, 2022. EFES22 is an international combined, joint, live-fire exercise focused on increasing force readiness, promoting stability and prosperity in the region, and interoperability between U.S., Turkey, and allied nations. Arlington is part of the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, under the command and control of Task Force 61/2, on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet, to defend U.S., allied and partner interests.
