OKINAWA, Japan (June 15, 2022) A U.S. Marine with Amphibious Reconnaissance Platoon, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), gains intel from a role player during a visit, board, search, and seizure operation aboard the Lewis B. Puller-class expeditionary mobile base USS Miguel Keith (ESB-5), off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, June 15, 2022. Ensuring these training exercises are as realistic as possible ensures the 31st MEU is ready for any eventuality in the Indonesian-Pacific theatre. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
