OKINAWA, Japan (June 16, 2022) U.S. Marines with Amphibious Reconnaissance Platoon, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, climb from a rigid hull inflatable boat onto the Puller-class expeditionary mobile base USS Miguel Keith (ESB 5) during a visit, board, search, and seizure operation off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, June 16, 2022. Inserting from both air and sea allows the Amphibious Reconnaissance Platoon and Battalion Landing Team 2/5 security team to quickly seize the key areas of the ship. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
