PHILIPPINE SEA (June 16, 2022) Capt. Walter Mainor, rear, from Montgomery, Ala., Deputy Commodore, Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, and Lt. Cmdr. Andy Pagliarulo, from California, Md., assigned to DESRON 15, monitor a fusion plot board aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) during Valiant Shield 2022 (VS22), June 16, 2022. VS22 is a U.S.-only, biennial field training exercise (FTX) focused on integration of joint training in a multi-domain environment. This training builds real-world proficiency in sustaining world forces through detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.
