TINIAN, NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS (Jun. 14, 2022) Sailors assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 5 teach a "Stop the Bleed" course to Tinian residents and first responders on June 14 while on the island in support of Exercise Valiant Shield 2022. "Stop the Bleed" is a program administered by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and partners with the Department of Defense and other government organizations as an initiative to increase trauma care knowledge of the average bystander and shorten critical time gap awaiting first responders. Exercises such as Valiant Shield allow the Indo-Pacific Command Joint Forces the opportunity to integrate forces from all branches of service to conduct precise, lethal, and overwhelming multi-axis, multi-domain effects that demonstrate the strength and versatility of the Joint Force and our commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
