BALTIC SEA (June 9, 2022) Personnel assigned to U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa and U.S. 6th Fleet partner with members from Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific, Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Newport, and Mine Warfare Readiness and Effectiveness Measuring (MIREM) to test advancements in unmanned underwater vehicles during exercise BALTOPS 22. BALTOPS22 is the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic Region. The exercise, led by U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, and executed by Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, provides a unique training opportunity to strengthen combined response capabilities critical to preserving freedom of navigation and security in the Baltic Sea.
