OKINAWA, Japan (May 12, 2022) Marines and Navy corpsmen assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conduct a blood transfusion during a Valkyrie training exercise at Camp Hansen in Okinawa, Japan, May 12, 2022. The Valkyrie program prepares Marines to assist corpsmen with blood transfusion and tactical combat casualty care for a casualty in critical condition. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
