SEA OF JAPAN (May 12, 2022) The Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Chief (MCM 14) approaches alongside the expeditionary sea base ship USS Miguel Keith (ESB 5) to conduct rafting operations during Exercise Noble Vanguard. Rafting operations extend the operational stay time of smaller units and provide non-traditional logistics in remote areas. Noble Vanguard serves as an enabler to reinforce tactics and techniques of different mission sets that contribute to regional stability.
